Plum Moulding Plane by Richard Arnold

Not all moulding planes are made of Beech.

This early 18th century moulding plane is made of Plum wood. Quite a few early planes turn up made of various fruit woods.

This example also sports a rather unusual wedge shape as well. The round profile is nicely marked out with a compass. It is also another example of a plane with the "IC" mark.
